OUTREACH
In the parable of The Good Samaritan, we learn how he offered freely of his time as he stopped to minister to the man and then went out of his way to get him to an inn, and returned again at a later date. The Good Samaritan also ministered from his talent as he bound up the man’s wounds and poured in the oil and the wine. And finally, the Good Samaritan ministered through his treasure as he paid the bill in full for the care of the man while he recovered at the inn. It is after the example of the Good Samaritan that St Anne’s chooses to pattern our outreach ministry.
At St. Anne’s, we want to focus on tangible ministry in our local area, meaning hands-on ministry involving time, talent, and treasure. This may take the form of working with Ecumenical Partnership for Housing, or the Food Pantry. It may mean working at a food drive, delivering Christmas gifts, or bringing food to the homebound. Of course, there are also financial needs for continued ministry in the area, and St Anne’s supports several of these key ministries. Each of us represents the hands and feet of our Lord. Each of us will be able to serve Christ in and through Outreach with our time, talent, and treasure.

Ecumenical Partnership for Housing
St. Anne’s is a member of Ecumenical Partnership for Housing. EPH is a group of churches in Brown County working in partnership with the Salvation Army to help homeless families. More than 250 families in Brown County have been helped since 1992. EPH Transitional Housing Program has given these families the opportunity to break the cycle of poverty and homelessness. Individualized case management is provided to each family through the Salvation Army. Issues and challenges are identified and a case plan to address them is created with the family. EPH owns twelve housing units in Brown County. Each member church is responsible for one unit. The EPH Board of Directors is comprised of two volunteer members from each church. EPH also has a Home Maintenance Coordinator Committee with one committee member per church. This group oversees the care and set up of the homes. EPH also employs one maintenance man. The coordinators activate volunteers from their own congregations or inform the maintenance man of any work to be done on their unit. This could be cleaning, furniture, household goods, and welcoming new families with a meal. There are also opportunities for mentoring.
